Where can I recycle pillows and duvets

Over 10 million duvets and pillows are sent to landfill each year in the UK, and we want that change. When it’s time to dispose of your old duvets and pillows, there are plenty of options to make sure they go on to help others, we’ve included some helpful links below to help you find the best option.

Check your local council and recycling locations.

What are TOGs?

A ‘tog’ is the warmth to weight ratio of a duvet and there are various values of tog ratings – the higher the tog rating, the warmer the duvet

How do I wash Coverless Duvets

Your Coverless Comfort duvet can be machine washed at 40° to keep it clean and cosy.

To dry your duvet, it can tumble dried on low or hung over a washing line or clothes horse.

We recommend ensuring your Coverless Comfort duvet is completely dry before use.

Does Wool smell?

As a natural material, wool contains a wax called Lanolin which aids sheep in protecting their woolly coats. Lanolin is also what gives wool its natural smell.

However, during the washing (scouring) process, a large quantity of the Lanolin is removed from the wool, reducing the smell.

When you receive your new wool duvet, we recommend airing it over a clotheshorse or washing line to remove any built-up odour
that may have occurred during storage.

Will wool make me itch

No, Wool duvets are not itchy

Wool has a reputation that it can be an itchy and uncomfortable material even with its wonderful warmth and anti-allergy properties.

Our wool duvets are wrapped in a luxuriously soft cotton cover to help the duvet naturally regulate your temperature and wick away night time moisture.

Which weight of wool do you suggest

LIGHTWEIGHT – Equivalent to 3-4.5 tog duvets, this is a great choice for summer or if you are naturally warm in bed.

MEDIUMWEIGHT – Equivalent to 7-9 tog duvets, this is a classic weight to keep you comfy all year long.

HEAVYWEIGHT – Equivalent to 10-12 togs, this is best if you prefer a thicker weight for hibernating under the covers.

How do I clean a Wool Duvet

We recommend you allow your wool duvet to air for 24 hours before use. To allow your wool duvet to breathe and wick away moisture, use a 100% natural duvet cover. Regularly air to keep it fresh and clean. Simply hang over a bannister, clothes horse or outside on your washing line in between changing the covers. Sponge clean only.

Is Wool Hypoallergenic

Hypoallergenic and anti-bacterial by nature, wool bedding is ideal for anyone suffering from allergies. Unlike other materials, it won’t let dust or bed mites flourish and is averse to mould. So you can breathe easy night after night

What sizes do you make your duvets?

All our products are manufactured to the standard UK Sizes. Our duvets come in four sizes; Single 135 x 200cm, Double 200 x 200cm, King 225 x 220cm, Superking 260 x 220cm.

How often should I wash my bedding?

We recommend washing your pillows and duvets to ensure they stay clean and fresh. We would suggest that you wash them at least every three to six months for optimal condition.

Are all duvets suitable for washing and tumble drying

Not all of our products are suitable for machine washing and tumble drying. The care label of each product needs to be checked for individual washing instructions. However, we try to make as many products as possible ‘easy care’ which means they can be both washed and tumble dried to help keep your sleep space a healthier environment.

What are the different types of filling?

Synthetic: Man-made synthetic fillings are easy to care for, lightweight, non-allergenic and offer great value for money against natural fillings. A high proportion of these fillings are made from recycled plastic bottles, helping reduce plastic waste to landfill.

Natural: Natural fillings are made using all feather or a mix of feather and down, either from duck or goose. All our natural products are ethically sourced and fully certified.

Anti-Allergenic: Anti-Allergenic: For those with allergies, the Anti-Allergy range has a specially formulated synthetic filling to help reduce dust mites and the build up of bacteria. Approved by experts Allergy UK, so you can sleep safe and easy night after night.

Climate Control: Climate Control: The Climate Control range is made with a synthetic breathable filling that has been developed with a special treatment called Temperate Fibres. Scientifically proven to draw excess moisture away from your body so you can enjoy a dry, cool and comfy sleeping environment all night long.
